access-ABLE designs Contractor Information

Access-Able Designs presents several exciting new lines of ADA compliant bathroom products that are ideal and necessary for commercial and residential projects which require use of handicapped accessible bathroom facilities.

Access-ABLE Designs founder and President Allen Garrett designed these seats to meet the needs of people who, like him, have discovered that many of the products on the market fail to meet specific needs of the physically handicapped.

The 4-legged shower bench SH-400-2SDL is a new fix to an old problem.   Our clients immediately recognize the improved stability of this 4-legged shower seat. Property managers and contractors report that the standard style wall-mounted seats are known to grow weaker over time and eventually break away from the walls. The ADA mandates a minimum 250 lb. weight limit for handicapped accessible bathroom products, however, as obesity rates increase, so does the need for bathroom products which can withstand weights in access of 250 lbs.  Access-ABLE Designs seats have been tested to successfully sustain weights of up to 1000 lbs.   Managers of health-fitness facilities, hotels, hospitals and many other public use buildings report the need for stronger shower seats that reduce liability and increase functionality for their patrons.

The SH-414-2SDL rear-mounted tub transfer seat is the most accessible folding tub seat on the market.  Most tub seats rest on the tub itself and make for a 14" height which is too low for a person to be able to safely transfer from an 18"H wheelchair (ADA requirement is 17"-19" on seats). Access-ABLE Designs seats have proper framing and seat heights that will allow them to be more functional and more versatile.

The D-101 Dressing Bench is a mandatory product whose folding attribute will allow the bench to be out of the way when not needed, thereby leaving more open space for the bathroom and dressing area. It is our experience that the need for dressing bench has been widely overlooked by architects and planners.

The following are a few of the many benefits Access-ABLE Designs products will bring to your clients.  All Access-ABLE Designs products:
  • Meet and exceed all ADA standard requirements for handicapped access enhanced facilities
  • Improve ADA compliance ratings for facilities
  • Improve safety of bathrooms for physically disabled clients and customers
  • Reduce unnecessary falling accidents by patients and caregivers
  • Lower incidences of injury and liability to yourself and employees
  • Help improve recover time and money previously lost to repairs and maintenance
  • Encourage self motivation and independence in patients
  • Shave hours (even days) off installation costs
  • Retain or increase the value of your facility / home
  • Allow for "Mess less" installation means no cleanup

Therefore, on behalf of thousands of people like myself, I ask you to make Access-ABLE Designs products a part of your current and future commercial or residential projects.

Sincerely,
Allen Garrett-President
